Request a Mail-In BallotWhen you vote by mail, you avoid lines on Election Day, and ensure that there will be one less person in line -- making the process that much smoother for other voters. In addition, voting by mail will allow you to further support Senator Obama by volunteering your time on Election Day. 2. If you are a first-time voter and you are requesting a Mail-In Ballot, you need to include a copy of your identification with your application. The approved forms of identification are listed below. If you do not send a copy of your ID with your application, you must include a copy when you mail in your ballot. 3. Return the signed application to your County Clerk by mail, fax, or email as a PDF. The County Clerk must receive your application no later than Tuesday, October 28th, for your Mail-In Ballot to be sent to you. Your Mail-In Ballot will be mailed approximately 30 days before Election Day, or, thereafter, within three days of the County Clerk receiving the request for a Mail-In Ballot. Please remember that if you vote by mail, your Mail-In Ballot must be received by your County Clerk no later than Election Day, November 4th, 2008. You can return your Mail-In Ballot to the County Clerk's office or a specific drop-off site in your county. In most counties you can't return your Mail-In Ballot to a polling place on Election Day -- so please do not hold onto it until the last minute. |
